About
Dr Adrian Gardner is a Senior Reseach Technical Professional within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Adrian is the facility manager of two shared research facilities: Early Career Laser Laboratory and Low Energy Ion Scattering Laboratory.
Adrian has diverse research interests which employ advanced spectroscopies. He is interested in how energy moves around molecules, this may be electronic energy hopping between chromophores, vibrational energy becoming spread out, or localised, within molecules, or how photon absorption can lead to the formation of separated charges. He is interested in intramolecular and intermolecular interactions and how these can control aggregation, and therefore chemistry, and has recently been studying the photophysics of organic and inorganic photocatalysts. Using advanced spectrometers developed at UoL, he has recently been following electrochemical reactions and probing how applied electric fields perturb the electrochemical interface. More details can be found on Adrian's publication page.
