About

Personal Statement

Stuart Cohen qualified from the University of Sheffield and undertook most of his postgraduate training at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. During his time as Specialist Registrar, he spent a year as the first UK Dermatology Teaching Fellow. He was appointed Consultant Dermatologist there in 2009 and took over as Undergraduate Lead for Dermatology. Following a messy take-over of dermatology in Nottingham by a private sector company, he returned to his home city of Liverpool in 2015 as Consultant Dermatologist with an interest in Education, based at Broadgreen Hospital. Since the start of 2019, he has been Deputy Director and Clinical Lead for Assessment at the School of Medicine in Liverpool, as well as Specialty Lead for Dermatology. He was the inaugural Chair of the Undergraduate Committee of the British Association of Dermatologists and continues to contribute to what is now the Undergraduate Workstream. For several years, he was Clinical Lead for the NHS e-Learning for Healthcare e-dermatology programme. He is also CPD Co-editor for the journal, Clinical and Experimental Dermatology.
