Personal Statement

Before joining the University as a Senior Lecturer in 2017, I had spent 20 years in professional education as a tutor. During this time, my experiences and achievements include the management of teaching programmes, clients and a training centre for BPP Professional Education. I subsequently set up a private education company (First Intuition Reading Ltd) with colleagues, in 2010 The businesses all specialise in the provision of exam training towards the major professional accounting bodies' examinations. I have been ACCA qualified since 1997 - these exams were undertaken following completion of my Accounting degree, whilst employed on a Graduate Development Programme with Barclays plc..

At the University of Liverpool, I lecture at undergraduate and postgraduate level, specialising in management accounting, strategy and corporate finance. In addition, I am the Director of Studies for the University's Accounting and Finance online programmes.
