Design Studio 1.1 consists of two connected subjects: Design Communication 1.1 (A) and Design Project 1.1 (B).
The aim of ‘Design Communication 1.1’ (A) is to introduce and enable students to develop architectural representation and communication skills in sketching, model-making and orthographic drawing.
In ‘Design Project 1.1’, students will interpret given briefs for a series of simple projects through exploration, testing and experimentation of design ideas. Using their developing architectural representation skills, students will be able to communicate their design intentions.
The module will be delivered using a combination of design tutorials, workshops, talks and reviews, followed by a summative design portfolio submission.
