Delighted to see that Ettienne Joly has flagged our paper as ‘exceptional’ in Faculty of 1000. It is also described as a ‘hidden jewel’, which means that it is in a paper that is not considered to be in the top 10 journals, or something. This is what is wrong with the current attitude in scientific publishing - a few journals, (who, by their own admission, are better than the rest) and who have a layer of editorial ‘sexiness’ filters applied, are shaping the publication landscape.
