    About

    Personal Statement

I completed my Undergraduate degree (BA Business Economics) at the University of Leicester in 2004. Following this I took up a position at Alexander Myerson and Co in Liverpool where I was a practising accountant for four years; during this time I qualified as a Chartered Accountant by gaining my ICAEW qualification. In 2008 I left practice to join Kaplan Financial, a private training firm specialising in accountancy tuition. During my time at Kaplan I taught across all accountancy qualifications in my role as a lecturer. In 2013 I took on a split role which combined teaching with national client account management, the main element of this role was to manage the PwC client account for Kaplan. PwC at the time were Kaplan UK's largest client and I reported directly in to the Managing Director of Kaplan UK. During my time managing the PwC contract I oversaw the design and delivery of an innovative and award winning (e-learning age gold award: best use of blended learning) new blended learning programme designed specifically for PwC.

I joined the University of Liverpool in 2015 and I specialise in Management Accounting and Financial Management, leading modules in these areas. I also teach on Business Strategy modules. I am a keen student of Corporate Finance and look forward to exploring this further in the future. Finally I am also Head of Year 2 on the Accounting and Finance programme at the University.
