Alex Lord is senior lecturer at the department of Geography and Planning. He began his academic career with doctoral research at the University of Manchester's School of Environment and Development prior to joining Liverpool. His research interests cover the economies and politics of cities, particularly the economic effects of urban and environmental planning.
Alex leads ESRC-funded research on the behavioural economics of planning decisions as well as a project funded by the Royal Town Planning Institute on the potential value of planning as a formal animator of development. In the past Alex has worked on projects funded by the British Government and the European Union.
