About

Personal Statement

I joined the School of Engineering as a Lecturer of Mathematical Engineering in September 2023, having previously studied for my PGCE with the University of Buckingham (2021-2023) and held the role of Outreach Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Australia (2019-2021).

My PhD (2015-2019) was in Pure Mathematics, specifically Complex Hyperbolic Geometry within Geometry & Topology. I studied Ultra-Parallel Complex Hyperbolic Triangle Groups which explored the discreteness of Complex Hyperbolic triangles. I successfully set out orders of the complex reflections for which the triangle groups are discrete.

As an Outreach Fellow at the University of Melbourne, my main duties focussed on teaching and outreach initiatives for all students, from school level to postgraduate level. I designed national programs, delivered lectures and created resources to promote all aspects of Mathematical Sciences, and continually demonstrated how Mathematics is required within every subject of Science and Engineering.
