Careers and the Future of Publishing

This module is designed to provide hands-on experience to enhance employability and industry awareness of the contemporary publishing landscape. Through sessions on CV-crafting, job applications, interviews and the impact of developing legislation, the opportunities given to you in this module are intended to develop new knowledge about the practical working environment of publishing. This module will also encourage a sensitivity to different working cultures and contexts and develop a global outlook in communication and literacy skills in order to secure employment after graduation. Topics under consideration may include scholarly publishing, Open Access and the REF, as well as insights into policies on sustainability and accessibility, and on AI and legislation.
