Research and Development 3

Code: PHTY361

Credits: 30

Semester: Whole Session

This is the third module of the Research and Development Theme. This module provides students with the opportunity to either design a critically justified research protocol for a quantitative or qualitative research study, or complete a systematic review in a topic of their choice in the field of physiotherapy practice.
The purpose of this module is to enable the student to connect theory relating to research methods to a specific, enquiry-based research topic of their choice. Consideration of ethics will be embedded within the study and culminate in the production of a research journal article and digital presentation outlining the research and it’s links to practice and future research.
The student will connect with, be taught and/or be supervised by academics who will guide the acquisition of authentic research skills and understanding of data collection and handling that will be applicable to practice.
