Physics in Practice III (BSc)

Code: PHYS333

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 1

Physics in Practice III (BSc) is a semester 1 skills module that is complementary to the capstone project module (PHYS343) for BSc Physics programmes, in which students develop the advanced investigative skills required for independent research in physics. Through a structured programme of activities, students learn how to design research projects, engage critically with scientific literature, and apply quantitative and computational methods to complex problems.

Students undertake an introductory investigation aligned with their programme pathway, gaining experience in planning, analysing and communicating scientific work. This module prepares students for their independent research project and develops key skills valued in both research and industry, including problem-solving, data analysis and professional communication.
