Enabling Occupation

Code: OCCU483

Credits: 20

Semester: Semester 2

This Level 7, 20 credit module, is the second in the occupation for health and wellbeing theme. In this module students consider goal setting, delivery of interventions, and the role of group interventions within occupational therapy practice.

Developing from the previous module in the occupation for health and wellbeing theme students will further develop their skills and clinical reasoning in the context of goal setting and interventions.

This modules includes a range of teaching methods: lectures, seminars, workshops, role play, group learning and online tests.

Assessment consists of two components: a presentation developing and justifying a plan for a group intervention in practice which demonstrates critical reflection on their experience of running a group session, and defends their reasoning in response to questions (100% weighting), and a 7-week full-time practice placement (pass or fail, 0% weighting).
