The module forms the core of the MRES research element for practice based music students (such as composers, songwriters, performers) who will work one-to-one with their named supervisory team to produce a main portfolio of practical work (20 minutes of music in total for composers, a 45 minute performance for performers or prototype instrument/technology). Applications will be considered from a broad range of musical practice including contemporary music, electro acoustic composition and popular music. The work produced by students is expected to be research led and demonstrate innovation as appropriate to their field of practice.
