The Viking Age Scandinavian diaspora left a long term cultural imprint in Britain and Ireland, however the histories of this period are often misrepresented and misunderstood. Despite a popular fascination with vikings in videogames and television, there is a dearth of research into the primary sources of this period. Through the framework of political history and detailed analysis the surviving evidence, this module invites a deeper understanding of vikings from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
