This module is mapped against the B2 level of the CEFR. Students will build on their French A-level (or equivalent) and work towards the second year of their degree (FREN200A).
Through a variety of learning and assessment activities, students will work towards understanding the main ideas of complex texts and conversations on both concrete and abstract topics. Students will also learn to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. They will work on being able to communicate in written or spoken form clearly on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
