This module equips students with a rigorous understanding of what climate change is, how we observe it, what drives it, and what risks it poses. Using a Past–Present–Future structure, the module connects observational evidence and physical mechanisms to decision-relevant risk and uncertainty. Teaching is delivered through lectures supported by guided reading of peer-reviewed research and assessment-style synthesis, giving students the skills to evaluate claims and communicate defensible conclusions. Assessment is split between a structured exam and an individual stakeholder briefing report.
