This module prepares students for their dissertation and future career. The module covers the complete research process – from developing research questions and reviewing literature to designing methodologies and addressing ethical considerations. Through engaging lectures, hands-on workshops and tutorials, students build critical analysis, academic writing, and communication skills. Optional discipline-specific pathways allow tailoring of learning to human geography, physical geography, or environmental science. Alongside research training, dedicated employability sessions cover CV writing, interviews, and career planning, connecting academic skills to professional opportunities and ensuring readiness for Year 3 and beyond.
