Fieldwork is a core element of a geographical education. By conducting a short (c. 5-day) field class in a European city, students will develop essential skills in research in a new location. Students will design (with staff support) an original, short-duration, research project suitable for the field site. They will gain first-hand experience of data collection and analysis. Students will be assessed through a presentation of their research findings, and an individual critical reflection on the fieldwork/research process. The module helps students develop both research and transferable skills useful for their future careers.
