Managerial Finance is designed to develop students' expertise in problem solving, numeracy and commercial awareness through a lecture and workshop programme that helps them understand, apply and competently practise in accounting and finance. The module aims to develop understanding from an introductory level to a solid foundation of the principals and theories of finance useful for business managers. The module provides introductory concepts in correctly applying accounting and finance principles to identify assets and liabilities, analyse financial statements, and perform planning and forecasting essential in firm and project valuation as direct, commercially useful, transferable skills. This module is designed for students who have not studied accounting and finance before, to take them through to a level of understanding that will allow them to engage confidently with finance professionals.
