Conserving the Marine Environment

Code: SOES326

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 1

Conservation of the marine environment is an important but complex issue. In this module we will explore how ecological data are used to monitor, assess and manage marine ecosystems, and how this information is then used to underpin effective marine conservation. Using a series of real-world examples and insights from external experts, you will learn skills used in conservation careers and how conservation practice really works. The module is delivered through a mix of video lectures, in-person lectures and computer practicals and assessed through a group presentation and an examination.
