This module aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic models and its application to real-world economic challenges. Students will examine key areas including measuring economic performance, market structures, and the financial system. The module also addresses real-world challenges such as inflation, financial market imperfections, and the impact of global trade and policy interventions. Sustainability considerations and links to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are introduced to show how macroeconomic policies influence the conditions for sustainable economic growth. The module combines hands-on data analysis using real-world sources, such as the Federal Reserve Economic Data database, with case studies to develop practical insights and analytical skills applicable to economic research, financial analysis, and policymaking.
