The Introduction to research module aims to familiarise students with the fundamental concepts, methodologies, and practices involved in conducting research and prepare them for employment/research beyond their MSc. Students will define and plan their research project, conduct a literature review in order to fully understand the research they will undertake in their final research project. The module will also involve exposure to speakers who will be invited from industry, funders, investors, and regulatory bodies to talk about every aspect of drug discovery.
The module will be delivered through lectures, tutorials, asynchronous material and lab skills. Students will be assessed through a literature review, project plan and a final skills portfolio including generic research skills activities and blog summaries from external speakers.
