This introductory year one module offers a broad foundation in Ancient Egyptian history and culture, from prehistory to AD 395. It introduces Egypt’s chronological, environmental, and geographical context while exploring key cultural themes such as writing, religion, art, and social structure. Emphasis is placed on interpreting primary evidence, including archaeological sites, material culture, and written sources, to develop an integrated understanding of Egypt’s historical development and societal systems.
