The module introduces students to the opportunities, developments, and challenges of leveraging big data analytics and familiarises students with fundamental techniques and tools for big data analytics. It examines how big data and data analytics can drive decisions and actions, on operational and governance level, in different organisations and settings. The module will equip students with skills to use the software tools for big data analytics and equip students with the ability to process, visualise and analyse large-scale datasets to support data-driven decision-making and dashboard building. It also establishes the importance and implications of big data for business intelligence.
