Pathways to Engineering

Pathways to Engineering is a two-year project that is delivered in partnership with the School of Engineering, the Sutton Trust and the University's Widening Participation & Outreach team. The project provides academic and sector-specific support for students who are interested in pursuing a career in Engineering.

The project aims to inspire and support students to progress into Engineering-related courses at university, and then onto a range of careers in the Engineering sector. During the project, participants will have the opportunity to discover the various subject options related to Engineering at university, including;

  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical Engineering

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in various work experience placements within the Engineering sector, gaining an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed to progress into these sectors. Over the course of two academic years students will take part with activities designed to develop their knowledge and understanding of studying at university and the career opportunities available within the Engineering sector.
