Community

The Widening Participation and Outreach team works with a number of local organisations to build mutually beneficial partnerships and to enhance our widening participation initiatives within the community.

At present, these include a number of local refugee and asylum seeker charities to support those people with the potential to progress onto University. We work alongside the University of Liverpool's Student Guild to co-ordinate these partnerships.

We are building relationships with local disability groups to develop our outreach with disabled learners and to better understand local needs.

We work closely with supplementary schools in Liverpool to arrange campus visits and support for students and their parents from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Liverpool Arabic Centre

The Widening Participation and Outreach team works in collaboration with the Liverpool Arabic Centre to provide aspiration and attainment raising support for pupils at the supplementary school undertaking their GCSE exams. The project takes place over a 12-week period prior to exams and mentoring support is provided by Undergraduate students from the University.
