    Personal Statement

    Dr John Hussey has been a GP Principal in an inner city Liverpool training practice since 1985 and continues to do clinical sessions in the practice now. He was involved in Postgraduate GP Training between 1988 and 2004 as a GP trainer, Course Organiser then Associate Director of Postgraduate Dept General Practice (Mersey Region). In 2004 he became Medical Director of Central Liverpool PCT and then the merged Liverpool PCT before taking on the role of Chair of Professional Executive Committee for Liverpool PCT between 2005 and 2013. In 2013 he joined the new NHS England as Medical Director for Merseyside Area Team but left in 2015 to support Liverpool Community Health Trust as a Clinical Adviser until 2017.
    He is now a part time Community Clinical Tutor in the School of Medicine of Liverpool University
    His main professional areas of interest are development of Primary and Community Care and training. He is keen on all sports and is active in golf, tennis, racketball and skiing.
