Information for Guidance Counsellors and Advisors

Due to the ongoing development of the COVID-19 outbreak, both in the UK and worldwide, and out of concern for the health and safety of students and staff, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the International Summer School 2020.

We appreciate this is disappointing news, however we are already making plans for the 2021 International Summer School, and we hope to see your students there.

All applicants have been contacted regarding their application, as well as our current partners. If you are in discussions with the team regarding student applications or anything else, we will be in touch very soon to discuss the next steps.

If you are an advisor, counsellor or representative of an international mobility team we’d be really pleased to have a conversation with you about your students joining us for a summer in Liverpool!

Liverpool is a safe and friendly city with a fascinating history, and gives access to the very best of the UK in terms of culture, architecture and landscape. With 10+ years of experience in providing summer programmes to students from all over the world you can be sure your students are in good hands- and that you will find us a pro-active and friendly team to work with.

What we offer

The International Summer School offers 3 or 6 week programmes and students can select to study either of the three week blocks, or both according to their timetables and preferences. Modules are not repeated, so 6 weeks of study represents a challenging and diverse range of academic study.

ISS Students live together on campus, within walking distance from both classes and the vibrant city centre, and have full access to libraries, computing facilities, gym, and student discounts. Our Social team is on hand to offer recommendations for making the best of their time here, and the programme includes trips within Liverpool and further afield within the tuition fee.

Experience and opportunity

The Cavern club, John Lennon’s house, the historic Albert Dock, more museums than anywhere outside of London, an award winning coastline and the stunning Lake District and dramatic North Wales are all waiting for your students!

On graduation students receive their certificate and are invited to join the Alumni Network. This opens the door to a global professional network, and, should they decide to return to Liverpool for further study, discounts on their tuition.

How we can help

We are conscious that choosing to study abroad is a big decision, so we are on hand from the moment of application, offering webinars for offer holders, a tailored handbook sent at the point of offer, online chat, and a responsive Facebook page. On arrival students will meet their welfare representatives who can deal sensitively with any issues that may arise.

We offer tuition discounts on group study and are happy to explore summer-to summer exchanges. We also welcome visits from international colleagues so if you are ever in the area (London is 2 hours away, Manchester 45 minutes, and Edinburgh 2.5 hours, and it’s only a short hop to Ireland) please get in touch!

We are confident that a summer in Liverpool is one that your students will never forget, returning with not just academic credit, but friends across the globe and memories to last a lifetime.
