POLYNET

Funded by the European Commission under the Fp6 Programme, the project had interests in the development of physical organic device models, which can be used in accurate simulations of organic circuits.

The models were developed by Liverpool and validated with data on the various technologies from partners such as IMEC (Leuven), CEA-LETIN (Grenoble), Franhoufer IZM (Munich) and Joanneum (Weiz). Due to difference in material and transport properties, conventional silicon-based models are inappropriate for organics. Liverpool developed appropriate models for the thin-film transistors (OTFTs) with amorphous and polycrystalline organic semiconductors. Better agreements of the experimental data are obtained with the novel disordered model compared to the conventional standard model as example below for P3HT OTFT.
