Having welcomed the majority of our students back at the start of September, the School of Dentistry has completed the majority of Term 1 teaching under new COVID-secure systems. Students from all year groups have been able to undertake treatment skills in a simulated environment, alongside virtual cases, seminars, problem based learning and self-directed learning. Having demonstrated their safe treatment in the simulated environment, our senior students have been able to commence patient treatment and undertake some placements outside the Dental Hospital. Plans are also underway to allow all our students access to patient treatment later this year. Through regular and open communication, we continue to work in partnership with our students in a constantly changing environment.
