I am currently studying for a PhD in Architecture.
Why did you choose postgraduate study at the University of Liverpool?
Liverpool is a prestigious, top-ranking university, and the School of Architecture is top ranking too. I was also able to find supervisors who are a great match for my research interests.
What’s the best thing about studying in your department?
My superviors - they are professional, knowledgeable, cooperative and supportive.
What do you enjoy most about working towards your PhD?
Academically, that my supervisors share my enthusiasm for my research. Generally, that I enjoy being in the city of Liverpool, I can find everything I want so easily, and the people here are really friendly.
How do you believe undertaking postgraduate research will help your career prospects?
It will enable me to participate in major decisions in my work place (in academia at the moment) and it will certainly open up more doors for me.
What advice would you give to anybody considering postgraduate research?
Pick a topic that you can be immersed in for several years without getting bored of. Also, choose a city that is suitable for your lifestyle.
