Throughout the year we hold several events relating to Study Abroad, regardless what stage of your Study Abroad journey you're on. All our events run during term-time; outside of term (including vacation breaks) please get in touch with the team via email or phone if you have any questions. Discover the Year in China with Professor David Goodman


Year in China is the Study Abroad Team’s exciting flagship programme. Why not have the adventure of a lifetime and discover Chinese culture, language and history? Come and find out about this amazing opportunity at our special information session hosted by Professor David Goodman (Vice-President at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University). 

This session is open to students from all academic years as you are now able to participate in the programme during your degree and after your final year of study! So, if you are a first or second year interested in studying abroad or you are graduating next year and are not sure what to do next, come along to this session and start your Chinese adventure!

Study Abroad Fair

Join us for our annual Study Abroad Fair! This event will provide you with everything you need to know about studying abroad. Come along to find out about our programmes and partner universities around the world. You'll also have the opportunity to speak to the Team, Study Abroad Ambassadors and Academic International Opportunities Advisors for advice and guidance about all things Study Abroad.

Study Abroad: The Basics


During the Study Abroad Fair, we will be hosting three 30 minute sessions to go through all of the basic information that you need to know.

Study Abroad 101

Study Abroad 101 is a session for you to discover the Study Abroad opportunities open to you. The session will cover everything from how to choose the right opportunity for you, how to research locations and partner universities, as well as money and budgeting. You will have the opportunity to meet the Study Abroad Team and have your queries answered.

Students who attend one of these sessions will be awarded an extra 5 points on their Study Abroad application (Semester and Summer Abroad only)!

Study Abroad Budgeting


We want to ensure that finances aren't a barrier to you studying abroad - in fact, we have some of the most generous funding in the Russell Group and funding is now available for all University of Liverpool students who choose to Study Abroad. Our budgeting sessions will cover everything you need to know about financing your international adventure. 

Students who attend one of these sessions will be awarded an extra 5 points on their Study Abroad application (Semester and Summer Abroad only)!

Application/Mobility-Online Help Session

If you need help with your Host University application, come along to one of our help sessions with computers available. These sessions are open to any student who know they will be studying abroad in the next academic year, including Law with Language/Year Abroad and Modern Languages and Cultures students - no registration necessary.
