Making an Impact 2020 Framework

Building on 2019 successful activity and participant feedback, the revised Making an Impact 2020 Framework consists of impact clusters (based on the definition of impact in the REF2021 Guidance on Submissions, p.68) and a knowledge and skill axis (based on the first iteration of the Knowledge Exchange Framework 2019-2020 (p.7) perspectives).

The Making an Impact 2020 Framework includes a Digital Agenda Impact cluster relating to initiatives, technologies and digital products that support and promote impact, and enhance urban places and spaces, and enable people to connect more easily.

Elements of the Making an Impact 2020 Framework that are relevant to each activity were indicated within the programme to enable participants to build a tailored experience based on research impact needs, ambitions and interests.

Illustrated below are the impact clusters identified for REF2021 (outer coloured diamonds) and the seven knowledge and skill perspectives of the KEF (blue core) to help participants understand and frame their engagement in the Making an Impact 2020 programme.
