This month, two members of the Department take up leadership roles in the School of the Arts.

Dr Daniel Hill will serve as acting Academic Lead for Recruitment, Access and Widening Participation (temporarily replacing Dr Simon Marsden, of English). Daniel, who has substantial leadership experience of promoting degrees and recruiting students in a similar capacity in the Department, will join the School of the Arts Education Committee, the Full Senior Management Team of the School of the Arts, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Committee on Recruitment, Access and Widening Participation. He can be seen in action on youtube.

Dr Jan Jobling becomes Academic Co-ordinator for Technology-Enhanced Learning. In this capacity, she will help the School to promote digital fluency, one of the graduate attributes of Curriculum 2021, across its portfolio of degrees. Jan has extensive experience in quality-assurance work related to teaching and learning, and has been active in promoting digital fluency in Philosophy’s curriculum, including via the introduction of our new module PHIL311 Digital Inquiry Project. In this new role, Jan will serve on the School of the Arts Education Committee and on a Faculty working group on Technology-Enhanced Learning.
