About privacy notices

Privacy Notices explain exactly what the University of Liverpool will do with your personal data and your rights concerning that processing.

The University of Liverpool is registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under the registration number: Z6390975. 

Each document should tell you:

  • Who owns the data.
  • What it will be used for.
  • The legal reasons contained in the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018 which allows us to use it
  • Who the information will be shared with.
  • How long it will be kept for.
  • How you can withdraw your consent (where appropriate).
  • Whether the information will be transferred abroad.
  • Whether the information will be used to make any automated decisions about you.
  • The rights you have under the UK GDPR (UK General Data Protection Regulation).
  • How you can complain to the University’s Data Protection Officer.
  • How you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Other notices may be provided with more privacy information where we need to tell you about something not covered by one of these notices.
