Health and Safety

Over the next 12 months, we will use this page to outline the steps the University of Liverpool is taking to ensure this is the case so you can feel comfortable joining us on campus in Summer 2022.

The safety of students is of paramount importance to the International Summer School and the University of Liverpool, so a number of measures have been put in place to protect students from the risk of COVID-19. These measures follow UK Government and University policies and include the following:

  • You will be taught in a COVID-secure building with social distancing and limits to the number of people in each room.
  • The University of Liverpool strongly recommends that all students and staff wear face coverings in classrooms and when moving around campus.
  • We will ask you to comply with the University's own Test and Trace system, known as CAMPUS Shield, which offers on-campus COVID-19 testing.

For more information about the changes the University has put in place as a result of the worldwide COVID-19 crisis, please visit our advice and guidance page.

You will find all the information you need here, including information about University of Liverpool accommodation, visas, and travel to the UK, including arrangements for quarantine if you are coming from a country not included on the exemption list.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

The University is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Currently International Summer School (ISS) is scheduled to take place in person on the University of Liverpool campus.

Whilst we hope it does not come to this, we do reserve the right to cancel ISS or cancel certain individual bookings if we think the risk to people’s health becomes unacceptable. If we cancel ISS or your individual booking, or if for any reason you cannot attend ISS, we will refund your fees.

The University’s liability will not extend beyond this refund. We will not be liable for any associated costs of attending ISS you have been unable to recover e.g. travel costs. Please ensure you have appropriate travel insurance.
