The New Home for the School of Law and Social Justice

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is based on the University’s South Campus, home to many historically-significant buildings. Over the past few years, the University has invested in the South Campus to preserve these buildings and also offer the very best facilities for students and staff. The renovation and extension of the Cypress Building is part of the South Campus renovation project and, once complete, will house the School of Law and Social Justice.

    The Plans

The renovation work will create a large, open and airy space that will provide an inspiring and functional home for the School of Law and Social Justice.

The outside of the building will be clad with anodised sheets and include glazed walls to provide light, open spaces with a natural feel. Inside the building, there will be a large atrium which will be flooded with natural light from the glazed façade. This verdant, airy space will continue the open and natural feel, and will house social and breakout spaces, a multi-purpose event space and a café.
