Kiran Masaun

First year Medical student

Kiran, who came to Liverpool from her hometown of Birmingham to study Medicine, is now in her second semester of study.

Kiran said of her decision to come to the University of Liverpool: “It’s such a beautiful city, I’ve visited many times before and feel really comfortable here.

“Receiving this scholarship has enhanced my learning journey and already helped me progress as a medical student. I have been able to start a sign language course which will allow me to communicate with hearing-impaired patients. It’s an amazing added extra which I would not have been able to do otherwise.

“My aim is to practise medicine in Africa. I hope to make an impact on the healthcare system and have a positive effect on every one of my patients.”
