Construction

£350, 000 ($500, 000)* are needed for the construction of the Heritage Centre ( a fully costed budget is available to potential donors). The National Heritage Conservation Commission (NHCC) of Zambia will be responsible for all the running costs of the Centre. The Centre is designed around a central courtyard for the perfomance of traditional dances and craft production with three linked galleries ( Natural History, Archaeology, Ethnography).

Luangwa Heritage and Conservation Centre

Project Management track record:

Professor Larry Barham was awarded £243,000 by the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Council for his research in the Luangwa Valley after 12 previous years of successful interdisciplinary (and international) project management in the challenging environment of Zambia. The NHCC is responsible for overseeing Zambia's cultural and natural heritage and is experienced in managing interpretative centres, but lacks the capital to fund any new projects. A project manager is included in the Heritage Centre budget.
