My research interest lies in the field of polymers and materials science, in particular structure-property relationships. Besides this, I also enjoy studying materials at surfaces and interfaces. Recently, I have been carrying out research in the area of surface modification of materials. By surface modification, the fundamental physical and chemical properties of materials can be altered. Therefore, these materials have great potential in electronic devices, coating technology, photonic band gap materials and composites. I have extensive experience in materials characterisation and the development of new materials for industrial applications.
