    Biography

    Personal Statement

    I have been within academia for the last fifteen years doing research and teaching chemistry, polymers and materials science. This includes teaching in HE and FE sectors at world renowned institutions here in the UK, the USA and India. I performed cutting edge research at international universities. I have over 40 publications in high impact refereed journals and presentations at international conferences. Besides this, my research work has led to 5 GB Patents submission. I am fully aware of intellectual property, copyright and confidentially issues.
    I have been regularly visiting and collaborating with industries and other academics. I possess several years of experience in materials characterisation by using analytical techniques including Electron Microscopies, (SEM, ESEM, TEM, FEGTEM) Atomic Probe Microscopy (AFM), Neutron Scattering, Ion Beam Analysis (IBA), X-rays (XRD, WAXS, SAXS), Rheology and mechanical tests. In my current position at Lairdside Laser Engineering Centre (LLEC), I am leading the University of Liverpool element of the project amongst other industrial partners. I am also deeply involved with the knowledge transfer between academia and the industry. In my previous position at Durham University, I carried out the consultancy work for International Paints, a subsidiary of Akzo Noble Powder Coatings Ltd. This generated funds for the university. I also taught students on their industrial placement.
    I possess excellent oral and written communication skills. I am a fair team player, with a good understanding of working and leading a team. I have the experience and enjoy the challenges of working alone.
    I have always delivered high quality results on time on all the projects and enjoy working to achieve deadlines. Throughout my career, I have kept my development on track by regularly attending staff development courses and seminars.
