Genomics

Genomics research at Liverpool is used across research areas to support cutting edge, technology-led research into food safety and systems. This is underpinned by our Centre for Genomic Research.

The Centre for Genomic Research (CGR) is a dedicated centre that facilitates cost-effective access to genomic multi-platform sequencing and array technologies for researchers worldwide, together with interpretative informatic analytical services. Through collaborative projects with both the public and private sector the CGR conducts and enables world-class research through a diverse portfolio that spans:

  • Human and animal health and disease
  • Crops and food security
  • Parasites and microbial populations.

The Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art next generation and 3rd generation sequencing platforms. Coupled with complementary robotics, sequence capture and array capabilities, optimum, tailor-made solutions across a wide range of biological applications are available to address research in sustainable food systems.
