This resource provides an overview to the support and resources that CIE can offer to support the National Student Survey NSS.

Staff support

CIE are available to offer bespoke staff support on a range of learning and teaching issues raised through NSS data. These include:

  • Bespoke tailored workshops on specific issues. For example; coursework marking calibration, design of assessment rubrics, design of effective feedback.
  • Act as a critical friend to offer support within departmental discussions and meetings.
  • Explore and identify examples of effective practice from within the sector and across the university including the application of digital technologies.
  • Assist in networking opportunities with other academic colleagues in other parts of the university that have had similar issues and developed solutions.
  • Help support pedagogic research into student voice etc – with student voice coordinators.
  • Help develop department/school specific guidance resources for the NSS.

Online learning and teaching resources

As CIE is primarily focused on the pedagogical aspects of curriculum design and development the following resources are the topics that CIE is best placed to offer support. Resources also include links to university and higher education sector resources. The list does not cover all aspects of the NSS (2023) question areas.

Additional NSS focused support resources from CIE, the Academy and the Library can be found here - Support for NSS Areas.
