Liverpool Biennial

The Department of Philosophy holds a long-term collaboration with Liverpool Biennial, the largest international contemporary art festival in the UK.

This partnership helps to promote our research, as well as the contribution Philosophy can make to creating and receiving contemporary art and culture.

During the festival our students and staff work with the local community, sharing knowledge, encouraging new connections and fostering constructive dialogue between different groups and policy makers.

The Philosophy Department leads the framing, organising and curating of a number of events, including:

  • Touched: Philosophy Meets Art Conference, November 2010
  • Human Surface Skin Workshop, July 2012
  • Around Ours Workshop, July 2012
  • Understanding Art, a series of workshops for children and families.
