Scholarship Ceremony at Liverpool

While I was still packing up my entire life into boxes preparing to move to a new country to continue my studies, making decisions on which was to be left behind in my childhood bedroom and which would be with me as I moved out, I still remember that day in the middle of September. It was right before I had dinner, I received a notification for an email from the ever so sweet and kind, Miss Clare, letting me know that I've been selected to receive the £5,000 scholarship and my immediate reaction was screaming in excitement at my mom and eventually my dad too. I'm incredibly blessed and appreciative to have received this generous scholarship, the global pandemic has truly made such an impact on everyone to different extents and lengths, and this is no exception to my family too, upon receiving this scholarship it has truly eased a huge portion of my parents' financial burden with regards to sending me to overseas to complete my final year of Law School.

Ever since I was in high school, I was rather fascinated with the idea of continuing school even after I had received my degree, I've always had the intention of achieving a postgraduate’s degree too. It did not really matter what I was even studying, I was just always passionate about continuing even after I had received my Bachelors’ degree. However, the financial part has always held me back a little from accomplishing this straight away because it seems rather unrealistic for me to immediately progress into my postgraduate’s program after I had graduated from the School of Law and Social Justice with my degree. For the longest period time, I have also convinced myself that I would have to wait for a year or two before continuing before my studies as I needed to save up a little while working too. However, upon receiving this scholarship, this idea of mine does not seem unrealistic anymore and I am one step to closer to making this into my reality and it still makes me feel giddy even though it has been a while since I have received this scholarship and received an invitation from the Dean of the Law School where he formally invited me to join this scholarship ceremony once I had settled in Liverpool.

Flashforward a couple months later, it is finally the day of the scholarship ceremony, the organizers of the event had truly done a wonderful job in setting up the event space with gorgeous decorations while considering the social distance measure to ensure the safety of everyone, all in all, the entire event was honestly delightful. I even had the chance to formally meet the Dean and the Head of Department of Liverpool's Law School, Professor Warren, and Professor Helen, and once again meeting Miss Clare is always a joyful experience. After the ceremony, we then enjoyed a variety of baked goods and drinks, it was genuinely a wonderful way to end the ceremony and giving the students and everyone, in general, a chance to get to know one another better and make new friends too along that process and enjoy the rest of the morning with lovely company.

Once again, the warmest thank you for giving me the opportunity to receive this award, I will try to do my absolute best here in the University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice, much gratitude for the invitation to attend this amazing scholarship ceremony too, it is truly an experience I could never put behind, and I’m looking forward to making many more delightful memories at this prestigious university too.
