Eurovision Policy Briefing 2

Partnership working for a sustainable employment legacy

In the second of our special series of Eurovision policy briefings, Tim Moore (Principal Policy Officer for Employment and Skills at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority) highlights how local partners are working together to promote the opportunities that the event will bring, and develop an employment legacy in the visitor economy and hospitality sectors. These sectors were hit particularly hard by Covid-19 and its aftershocks, and there are significant long-term challenges facing the tourism industry, particularly in recruiting and retaining staff. Eurovision represents an opportunity not only to rebuild the visitor economy but to ensure people across Liverpool City Region are able to access the jobs available, and to work with employers to develop prospects and conditions across the hospitality industry.
