Alongside our flagship events, we also support our staff and students to run a range of events for the public, schools and community groups, and below you can find out more information about the events we have coming up.

All Eyes On You: 22nd May 2024

Drop by Royal Liverpool University Hospital on 22nd May 2-3.30pm and chat to scientists and researchers from the University of Liverpool’s Department of Eye and Vision Science about the latest developments in eye research and how they can help you!

  • Do you want to know about the latest health research going on in your local community?
  • Would you like to know about the different ways of being involved in research?
  • Do you welcome the chance to have your voice heard?

The event will start with a series of brief introductory talks at 2pm, followed by an interactive poster session until 3:30pm (tea, coffee and freebies). All are welcome to attend.

Cheltenham Science Festival: 4 – 9 June 2024

Hands-on activities for primary school children in the Festival’s Interactive Zone.

Please note that there are two application forms, the first for an event which could be part of our schools, family or adult programme: Applications are now closed for 2024.

The second if you would like to partner with us in one of our interactive zones: Applications are now closed for 2024.

The Faculty have successfully applied to run a stand in the Discover Zone. If you would like to volunteer to help run this stand, please contact the PE team.

Meet the Scientists: 19th October 2024

Research scientists offer hands-on activities suitable for children and families.

Running during British Science week, this event will be taking place at the Museum of Liverpool.

Pint of Science: 2025

Scientists share their research in relaxed pub settings, fostering accessible and inclusive discussions, inviting everyone to engage with science outside traditional academic spaces.
