Public engagement case studies
We support a range of activities through our Faculty public engagement grants scheme and the Research England Participatory Research Fund.
The Research England Participatory Research Fund supports projects that place communities at the heart of the research process, enabling co-produced research and the use of participatory methods. Alongside this, the Faculty Public Engagement Grant Scheme provides awards of up to £2,000 to help researchers and students deliver exciting, impactful public engagement activities that connect research with wider audiences.
Applications for both schemes open each Autumn. The Faculty Public Engagement Grant Scheme is available to all staff and students within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, while the Participatory Research Fund is open to academic and research staff, as well as postgraduate research students.
Dog mobility app showcased at Tatton Park
A new digital app that helps dog owners track the health and mobility of their dogs was showcased at the 2026 DogFest North festival, a two-day event at Tatton Park.
Talking about gut health: engaging the public in bowel research
Visitors were invited to engage in a range of activities designed to raise awareness around gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, bowel cancer screening and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
