Inaugural Lecture: Professor Kate Black

Professor Kate Black, from the University’s School of Engineering, will deliver her Inaugural lecture on Tuesday, April 18th in the Victoria Gallery & Museum.

Professor Black is a multidisciplinary researcher, lecturer and businesswoman who is focused on elevating the additive manufacturing (AM) industry through chemistry, engineering and collaboration.

Her research area is the development of novel functional materials using binder jet printing for the manufacture of metals and ceramics.

She also co-founded the spin out company Meta Additive, a 3D printing company developing  next generation additive manufacturing technologies. The company was acquired in 2021 by Desktop Metal, Inc..

Professor Black’s lecture entitled `From chemistry to manufacturing: Printing a resilient future' takes place 17.30 – 19:00 on Tuesday 18th April 2023 in the Victoria Gallery & Museum.
