Sapphic Angst Fest Nominated for Zine Award
A zine by Communication and Media Lecturer Dr Georgina Turner has been shortlisted for a Broken Pencil 2018 award.
Sapphic Angst Fest 2018 stemmed from Georgina's research into onscreen LGBTQ representation focussing on the 'Berena' storyline in Holby City on the BBC.
The zine has been nominated in the Fanzine category against a field of over 200 zines and is the only entry from outside of North America.
Georgina said of the nomination:
This is so exciting, and I’m absolutely made up for everyone who contributed to getting this zine together. Kudos, Berena fandom.
The awards will take place in Autumn 2018 at the annual Canzine Festival of Zines and Underground Culture in Toronto.
